Robert W. Rogers

Robert “Rab” Winston Rogers passed away from complications of pneumonia on April 29, 2022, at the Orlando VA Hospital, Florida. He was born to the late Dr. Henry and Phyllis (Springer) Rogers March 18, 1952, in Clare, Michigan. A 1970 graduate of Airport High School, Rab proudly served in the Army and National Guard, eventually earning the rank of Master Sergeant. While in the service, Rab used his writing skills to contribute to several National Guard publications. Rab attended Eastern Michigan University and retired from the Chrysler Engine Plant after thirty years of dedicated service. Rab was an avid golfer, loved to travel and play cards with friends. Rab was predeceased by his parents, sisters Linda and Lynn Rogers, and uncle Dr. Robert Rogers. He is survived by his children Kathleen Baumgartner, Robert (Kristine Jhoy) Rogers, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and grandson Jackson Rogers. Rab was looking forward to the arrival of another grandchild later this year. Also survived by brothers Charles (Patricia) Rogers of Ave Maria, FL, Edward (Juli) Rogers of Gahanna, OH, John (Pamela) Rogers of Carleton, MI, nieces and nephews, Rachel, Shane, Charles and Catherine. In accordance with Rab’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial services.
