Robert J. Cox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert J. Cox, age 82, of Flat Rock, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Born on January 22, 1940 in Wyandotte, Michigan, he was the son of Robert and Nelda (Pidcock) Cox. He and his wife, Diana (Schroeder), had been married for almost 60 years. He was a man of strong faith who always put his family first. He was employed with Kelsey Hayes as a Tool & Die Inspector for 35 years until retiring. Robert was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Flat Rock, MI. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, playing softball, and watching the Detroit Tigers. He loved his classic car and attending car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Corene Baker, Roberta Nix, and Deborah Cox. He is survived by his wife, Diana Cox; son, Robert (Nancy) Cox Jr.; daughter, Debra (Tedd) March; daughter, Karen (Todd) Begeman; grandchildren, Matthew Cox, Megan Cox, Rebekah (Drake) March Faris, Teddy March, Jennifer Begeman, Michael March, and Melanie Begeman; great-grandchildren, Madison Cox, Kylie Cox, and Isla Cox; sister, Neletta Jones. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Flat Rock, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Flat Rock, MI or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
