Rev. Dennis W. Shirley

Rev. Dennis W. Shirley, age 60, of Westland, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Wayne, Michigan. Born on January 25, 1960 in Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of Fred and Gloria (Stamate) Shirley. On December 20, 1980 he married Tammy Shier in Westland Community Church of God, Westland, MI. Dennis has been a Minister since 2008, but he was ministering for numerous years prior. He began his ministry at Westland Community Church of God and continued on to the Kingdom Life Church of God. He was well known for always wanting to help others. He liked to hunt, fish and was a "Jack of all Trades" but enjoyed electrical work. He adored his family and loved being a "Paw". Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, mother in law, Patricia Shier; siblings, Billie Jo Coon, Pati Newton and Frederick Shirley. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Shirley; daughter, Sanner Jean (John Jennings) Shirley; son, Joshua (Allyce) Shirley; daughter, Christine VanMeter grandchildren, Jacob Dennis Shirley, Kayla Jean Jennings, Madison Rose Shirley, Selena Marie Shirley, Kenleigh Lynn Shirley, Alexis Lee McCosky, Layla Jade McCosky, Cody Hall, Tyler Glen Melow and Faithanne Renee Melow; siblings, Niles (Gail) Gaumer, Connie (Michael) Russell, Niki Page, Phyllis Bowers and Eric (Beth) Shirley. Friends may visit in the Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Kingdom Life Church of God, Romulus, MI on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm. He will lie instate from 11:00 am until time of service. Pastor Steve Bishop will officiate the service. Entombment will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the family.
