Margaret A. Quinkert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margaret A. Quinkert (Bain/Maxwell), age 85, of Gibraltar, Michigan passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan. Born and raised in Flat Rock, Michigan on November 3, 1936, she was the daughter of Carl and Sallie (Case) Bain originally from McMinnville, Tennessee. She was employed with Tuchow & Trahey Law Offices in Flat Rock as a Legal Secretary for over 25 years until retiring in the early 2000's. In her earlier years following high school, she worked for the City of Flat Rock in the water department, and the law office of Frank Gazley in Flat Rock. Margaret liked collecting food recipes, camping, knitting, sewing, quilting, crocheting, playing cards, attending church, watching professional figure skating live or on TV, being with her friends and traveling when she could. First and foremost, she loved watching and listening to the Detroit Tigers and Pistons games. Margaret was preceded in death by her father Carl G. Bain, mother Sallie Bain, and her husband, Michael Quinkert. She is survived by her daughter Michele (Steve) Abercrombie; grandchildren Vivian Abercrombie and Vinson Abercrombie; brother Ron (Drenay) Bain; nieces LaDara (Michael) Gwin and LeeAnn (Scott) Grisham, grand niece RaeAnne Gwin, grand nephews Hayden Gwin and Jayden Grisham, and great, grand niece Olivia Gwin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm and a memorial service will immediately follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Gibraltar Senior Transportation (City of Gibraltar, MI) or charity of choice in her honor.
