John E. Maier Jr.

John E. Maier, Jr. age 69, of Huron Township, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan. Born on January 22, 1951 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he was the son of John and Betty (Armstrong) Maier. On February 8, 1974 he married Andrea Windels in St. John's Lutheran Church, Waltz, MI. He was employed with the Huron Township Police Dept for 29 years and was a police officer for the Huron Clinton Metropark Authority for 36 years until retiring in 2013. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waltz, MI and Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Michael and Danny Maier. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Maier of Huron, daughter, Melissa (Jerry) Chapp; son, Robert Maier; grandchildren, Jerilyn and Jillian Chapp, in-laws, Don (Priscilla) Wandrack; he also had many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waltz, MI. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
