Eleanor Alberts

June 10, 1925 - August 13, 2018

Eleanor Alberts, age 93, of Newport, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Monroe, Michigan. Born on June 10, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Theodore and Katherine (Fitz) Kurtycz. On October 20, 1945 she married Richard J. Alberts in Detroit, MI. Eleanor was a Rosie the Riveter during WWII at Willow Run Airport. She was a former employee of Sibley Gardens and SkyChefs retiring in 2001. Eleanor was a member of the Flat Rock VFW Post 9363 Ladies Auxiliary and a Past President, Flat Rock Elks 1731, Flat Rock Eagles and a lifetime member of the Woodhaven Moose Lodge 966. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all her Grandkids.. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Katherine Kurtycz, husband Richard J.Alberts, son, Ronald C. Alberts and daughter, Judy A. Spencer, 6 brothers, Frank, Walter, Raymond, Theodore, Frederick and William and a sister Clara Rousku. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Janey) Alberts of Collins, OH and Roy Alberts of Danville, CA; daughters, Joyce (Larry) Lizyness of Woodhaven, June Cunningham of Taylor and Janice (Arnold) Lemerand of Taylor; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren and brother, Norman (Catherine) Kurtycz. A memorial visitation will be held in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm with services beginning at 1:00 pm. Pastor Wayne Kurtycz will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the family.
