Earilyn M. Dexter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Earilyn M. Dexter, age 87, of South Rockwood, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Fountainview of Monroe in Frenchtown Twp, Michigan. Born on August 4, 1934 in Augusta Township, Michigan, she was the daughter of Josiah and Helen (Vedder) Dexter. Earilyn was a graduate of Malone University in Canton, Ohio. She was employed with Flat Rock School District as a Teacher for 30 years until retiring. Earilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Flat Rock and the Choir Director for over 50 years. She was a founding member of the Prayer Quilt Ministry and sewed over 200 quilt tops. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Emma Jean Sampier, John Ed Dexter and Ellen Goodman. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many great grandnieces and great grandnephews. Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 am. She will lie instate from 10:00 am until time of service. Rev. Rachael Dunlap will officiate the service. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church prayer quilt ministry.
